Meet Kate
Kate Holt · Founder
I started painting and upholstering furniture over 20 years ago when I was redoing my daughter’s bedroom and couldn't find furniture that I liked.
I studied Interior Design at NVQ levels and then went on to study Interior Design and Architecture at university - but didn’t quite finish my degree.
My husband Tony and I have owned a flooring business for over 25 years - so interiors have always been our thing. Tony is a natural upcycler (some may call it hoarding ) as he can't bear to see anything go to waste. He has often rescued furniture from skips, front gardens and even a bonfire - long before ‘upcycling’ became fashionable.
In the last few years I have turned my hobby/ lifestyle into a small but growing business, specialising in painting and upholstering custom one off furniture pieces. I am an accredited Fusion Mineral Paint and House of Upcycling Educator and enjoy passing on these skills to others in workshops.
